Drawing from photographs

Even though it is generally better to draw from real life in some cases it is more practical to draw from photographs. In this case I was studying the formations created in sand by the moving water, the fact that the water was continually moving meant it was hard to capture detailing. I made a conscious decision to wait and draw from my images once I had returned home. I feel these drawing look far too flat, without the photographs alongside it is not obvious what they are meant to be.
