Photographic references

My current body of work is focused around the female form, in particular my own body, although I am not using photographs as a resolve, I am using them as a reference to form in both drawing and sculpture.

The images are intentionally crude, I was not trying to create images that flattered the body as are portrayed in the media and expected. I wanted to create more natural images, the kinds of images you see when you catch yourself in the mirror. The aim was to emphasise the forms and folds in the flesh, making for more interesting translations into two and three dimensional works.
